The National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Heat Advisory from noon tomorrow (Tuesday, June 14th) through Wednesday, June 15th.
Peak afternoon heat indices are expected to reach between 105 to 109 degrees.
This extreme combination of high heat and humidity can create a dangerous situation in which heat illnesses are possible.
Designated cooling centers include the Bloom Township Center, the Chicago Heights Public Library, the Housing Authority of Cook County’s Golden Towers Senior Apartments and New Life Baptist Church.
