Library Board of Trustees
The Chicago Heights Public Library Board of Trustees govern the overall functions of the library. The Board gives the mission to the library, secures adequate funding to accomplish the library's mission, sets the policies for the operation of the library, hires the director of the library, and advocates for the library in the city and in the state. The Board consists of nine appointed Trustees. A Library Trustee must be a resident of the City of Chicago Heights and is appointed by the Mayor. The term of office of a Trustee is indefinitely unless the Mayor chooses to not reappoint that individual. Currently, there is one open board seat on the library board.
