The United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is sponsoring The National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day is Saturday, April 29, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The DEA provides a unified opportunity for the public to surrender unwanted, unneeded or expired prescription drugs and/or other medications to law enforcement partners for destruction. Only pills and other solids, like patches, can be brought to the collection sites – liquids and needles or other sharps will not be accepted.
I have attached a flyer in English and in Spanish regarding the National Drug Take Back Day event. You can check with your police department or check daily for a current list of collection sites by going online to the DEA’s web site http://www.deadiversion.usdoj.gov/drug_disposal/takeback/.
This one day event is a responsible, environmentally-friendly way for your residents to dispose of unwanted, unneeded, expired prescription or over the counter medications in a safe and secure manner.
